Graduated with Honors in Accounting from the University of Illinois
Upon receiving a B.S. in Accounting and graduating with Honors, David accepted a position as a financial auditor and accountant with the international accounting and consulting firm of Deloitte & Touche (now known as Deloitte LLP), where he worked for three years before beginning law school.

David obtained his Law Degree from DePaul University College of Law in 1993 and was admitted to the Illinois State Bar that same year.

Upon graduation, David accepted an offer of employment from the matrimonial law firm of Schiller, DuCanto & Fleck (where he had been working as a law clerk since 1991). David worked at Schiller, DuCanto & Fleck as an associate and then a partner, focusing solely on matrimonial law, through 2006 when he founded the Law Office of David A. King, P.C.

David founded the law office as a boutique matrimonial law firm to provide clients with the attention and focus their cases deserve with experienced and professional staff who treat you with respect and courtesy. The law office focuses on complex financial cases, including business valuations, tax strategies and estate planning in the context of divorce, as well as the resolution of challenging, multifaceted parenting/custody matters through innovative settlement solutions and litigation when necessary.
